Free Solar Panel Scheme Maryam Nawaz: New Scheme Of The Punjab Government

The new scheme named “Free Solar Panel Scheme Maryam Nawaz” has been revealed by the Punjab government led by CM Maryam Nawaz, in Pakistan and it will be going launch on 14th of August and under this scheme government will provide solar panels to those who consume up to 500 units of electricity with quite cheap installment facility.

During a recent meeting with CM Maryam Nawaz, she stressed for the need to demystify the solar panel financing scheme and for all preparations to be made for the launch of the program to be completed. Secretary Energy Naeem Rauf elaborated the features of the said scheme to the attendees, adding that the scheme is still in a trial period under a pilot project. During this pilot phase, it will be observing the efficiency and output of solar panel systems that has been installed at various locations. Moreover, there is the use of the Solar PV online monitoring system through the use of the Solar PV App whereby the efficiency of the systems is monitored.

For further detail of the Free Solar Panel Scheme Maryam Nawaz citizens can get their eligibility check just by sending them the bill reference number and the CNIC number at 8800. The eligible candidates will be picked by a balloting system facilitated by the PITB and the applicants will be notified by text messages. The next course of action will be for the district administration together with DISCOs to ensure that all the applicants are legitimate. During this phase, more than 100000 citizens will have an opportunity to have solar panels through this balloting. However, users involved in power theft, cases where they have two or more meters, having damaged or tampered meters as well as those with unpaid bills will not be eligible for the scheme.
